The road from Valdez to Glacier View was well-paved but full of frost heaves. We stopped at the Grand View RV Park because we needed a couple of days of full hookups, hot showers, and wifi. It even had cable. We did laundry and just enjoyed the beautiful surroundings.
Glacier View is near the twenty-six mile long Matanuska Glacier and the glacier has a good effect on its weather. The area is warmer and sunnier than the surrounding area. The RV park is near the Glacier and looks into a mountain that holds Dall sheep.
