Anchorage Again

After a morning exploring the Portage Glacier area we decided to drive to Potter's Marsh to photograph the birds and the scenery along the Turnagin Arm.  We came driving though on to Anchorage to buy an AT&T Mifi.  Being without wifi has made it difficult to stay in touch with loved ones at home and to post the blog on any regular basis.

As we approached the AT&T store we saw three other places to take care of important business-a Petco for Clark's food, an Express Oil Change to take care of the oil and air filters in the car, and an Urgent Care/Sports Medicine to have someone look at Bre's shoulder.  He has been having quite a bit of trouble lifting his arm and has been having difficulty sleeping because of the pain.  The oil change, Mifi purchase, and dog food were quickly accomplished. The Urgent Care facility did not accept Medicare but sent us to one half a mile away that did.  That clinic did not have an Xray machine on site and the doctor's quick diagnosis was a rotator cuff injury.  He suggested that we go to the walk-in Anchorage Fracture and Orthepedic Center at Anchorage hospital.  Another short drive.  Breland was seen quickly, had several xray, s and was diagnosed with spasms of the deltoid muscle.  Some medication and a heating pad should have him fishing again in just a couple of days.

Tomorrow we will leave Williwaw and head for the Kenai Peninsula.  The reds are supposed to be running soon.

Wonderful scenery and beautiful photos. Sorry to hear about your injured shoulder, Bre. I'll in box you on Face Book with a possible remedy.
