May 25
W e woke up early this morning and started the day feeling
very refreshed. I have never been to
this part of Kentucky and was charmed by the rolling hills and dense forests. Since it is a Saturday there was a little less
traffic on the road and we made pretty good time until we reached Cincinnati. There traffic was slowed as people tried to
get off of the highway and to the river for Memorial Day weekend celebrations.
Fuel is fairly
reasonable. Breland put 78 gallons of
diesel at a station that had it for $3.79 if you paid cash. We are averaging 10 miles per gallon so
fuel will be our major cost.
It is difficult to find camping spaces on this holiday
weekend. I finally was able to find a
pull-through near Bowling Green, Ohio.
The camping spaces here wrap around a large square manmade lake. Many of the RVs seem to be set up permanently
with small decks, flags and lawn furniture.
We were invited to come to the pavilion because there would be a disc
jockey tonight and a french toast breakfast in the morning.
We look forward to seeing Phil and Celeste tomorrow!
