Traffic

May 24
We woke up this morning to an incredible sunrise.    We didn't have to unhook last night so we were able to leave in a very short time.   We hope to cover 450 miles today and to accomplish that we will need to get on the road.   We never exceed 65 miles an hour with the toad and will travel even  slower in traffic or bad weather.
The detour around Memphis was smooth.  We stopped at the rest stop right beyond for sandwiches and a bit of exercise.  I learned on earlier trips just how important it is to stop and walk around every couple of hours.    At the end of the day we feel so much better.  It makes Clark a lot happier too!
Our goal for tonight is Louisville.  We may not make it because the traffic on I-65 through Nashville was almost at a standstill for over an hour.

Well, we didn't make it to Louisville.  The traffic in Nashville was horrendous.   I called ahead and found a pull-through in Cave City.  I have never been to Mammoth Cave National Park and we won't go this time either.   We need to push ahead to make it to Phil's by Sunday.

The campground was great for an overnight.  The turns were a little tight and I walked ahead of the RV to help Breland avoid the ditches on side of the turns.  Still, it was a cold clear night and the large trees and open fields gave it a nice country feel.
